A leading firm is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Information Assurance Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Information Assurance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems and networks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement advanced cybersecurity measures, and contribute to the overall mission success of the agency.
-Location: Onsite (DMV Area)
-Salary: $185,000-$230,000
-Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with a Polygraph
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust information assurance strategies, policies, and procedures in accordance with DoD standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and security audits to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Provide expert guidance on the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity directives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and relevant government agencies to foster a collaborative cybersecurity environment.
- Lead incident response efforts, investigate security incidents, and provide timely and effective solutions to mitigate security risks.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance the agency's cybersecurity posture.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the information assurance team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Current DoD 8570 DoD IA IAM/IAT LVL III Workforce Certification.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in Information Assurance or Cybersecurity roles within a DoD environment.
- Expertise in implementing and managing information security controls, including encryption, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- In-depth knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and experience leading Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes.
- Strong proficiency in assessing and mitigating vulnerabilities using tools such as Nessus, ACAS, or similar.
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Active TS/SCI Poly security clearance.
