Security Engineering Manager- Cloud
Glocomms is partnering with a well known financial services firm is looking for a technical security leader who can oversee a cloud security program while building and mentoring a team. The role is focused on improving security across cloud environments, partnering with engineering teams to address risk, driving security automation, and establishing scalable processes and controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of leadership, cloud security expertise, and operational execution, with the ability to influence stakeholders,
- Proven experience leading and developing security teams, with a focus on building strong operational processes and mentoring engineers.
- Strong background in cloud security, including identifying and reducing configuration risk across large-scale AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
- Experience owning a cloud security posture management program and driving remediation efforts across engineering organizations.
- Ability to partner effectively with platform engineering, DevSecOps, security operations, and architecture teams to embed security earlier in the development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with modern cloud security platforms and vulnerability management tooling, along with the ability to improve security visibility and automate remediation where possible.
- Experience establishing security standards, risk-based prioritization models, and governance processes that improve overall security posture.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native technologies, and secure software delivery practices.
- Ability to define meaningful metrics and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical teams and senior leadership.
Ideal Background
- Several years of cloud security, cloud engineering, or infrastructure security experience, combined with people leadership responsibilities.
- Hands-on understanding of cloud security controls, risk management, and vulnerability management programs.
- Experience working with technologies such as CSPM/CNAPP platforms, containerized environments, and cloud-native security solutions.
- Exposure to AI-enabled security capabilities, threat modeling, or security automation initiatives is a plus.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud compliance frameworks, audit processes, and enterprise security governance is highly desirable.
- Experience with tools in areas such as cloud posture management, vulnerability management, exposure management, and security risk aggregation would be beneficial.
