Vice President of Digital Assets & Fraud
A leading financial services firm is seeking a Vice President of Digital Assets & Risk to own the technical build and administration of the Fireblocks platform, ensuring it supports the fraud controls and risk management requirements for retail trading on the ETrade platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead risk assessments and control reviews of digital asset platforms, custody solutions, wallet infrastructure, governance frameworks, and related operating processes.
- Evaluate secure key management and transaction authorization controls, including modern cryptographic signing technologies, lifecycle management, recovery processes, and privileged access controls.
- Assess transaction governance frameworks designed to mitigate unauthorized or fraudulent asset movements, including approval workflows, policy controls, threshold requirements, and segregation of duties.
- Partner with cybersecurity, fraud, engineering, product, and operations teams to identify digital asset and blockchain-related threats and implement effective controls.
- Review technology architectures, data flows, and platform integrations to identify cybersecurity, operational, and fraud risks.
- Assess risks related to tokenized assets, digital asset products, and supporting third-party service providers.
- Support new product reviews, platform enhancements, strategic initiatives, and vendor risk assessments.
- Develop risk metrics, reporting, and governance materials to monitor control effectiveness and remediation activities.
- Communicate complex technical and risk concepts to senior stakeholders across business, technology, and risk functions.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, operational risk, fraud risk, or digital asset risk management.
- Experience evaluating digital asset, blockchain, cryptocurrency, or custody-related technologies.
- Strong understanding of wallet security, cryptographic controls, digital asset transfer governance, and key management practices.
- Knowledge of blockchain-related fraud risks, transaction monitoring concepts, and digital asset operational controls.
- Ability to analyze technical architectures, application workflows, and operational processes to identify risk and control considerations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence across technical and business teams.
- Experience operating within regulated or highly controlled environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting digital asset, blockchain, tokenization, or fintech programs.
- Familiarity with blockchain analytics, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, or fraud prevention tools.
- Experience with data analysis, automation, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.
