Software Engineer (Backend / Full Stack)

Location: Dallas, TX or New York, NY (Hybrid)

About the Opportunity

We're partnering with an innovative technology company developing cutting-edge connected systems that bring real-time intelligence and visibility to physical products throughout their lifecycle. Their platform combines cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and connected devices to help enterprise customers gain actionable insights from the physical world.

As the company continues to scale, they are looking for a Software Engineer to help build the next generation of data-driven applications and backend services that power their platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend applications and microservices using Python.
  • Design and implement APIs and services that process large-scale data streams.
  • Collaborate with product, data, and platform engineering teams on new feature development.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and participate in ongoing platform improvements.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.
  • Document technical decisions and support cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of software engineering experience in backend or full-stack development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
  • Strong system design, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative engineering environments.
  • Ability to work hybrid from Dallas or NYC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building data-intensive applications or analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Exposure to distributed systems, real-time data processing, or cloud-native architectures.
  • Background in IoT, telemetry, logistics, supply chain, or related domains is a plus.
