Senior System Validation Engineer
Seeking an experienced quality and validation engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and production readiness of complex connected products spanning embedded systems, Linux platforms, cloud services, APIs, and web applications. This role operates at the intersection of hardware and software, driving end-to-end system validation while partnering closely with engineering, product, operations, and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive system validation strategies for connected devices, embedded platforms, and cloud-enabled applications.
- Verify end-to-end functionality across firmware, backend services, APIs, user interfaces, and physical hardware components.
- Perform integration, regression, performance, reliability, and stress testing under a variety of real-world operating conditions.
- Evaluate system behavior during network disruptions, software updates, hardware failures, recovery scenarios, and long-term operation.
- Validate hardware-software interactions including device startup, configuration, calibration, upgrades, and fault recovery processes.
- Lead root-cause investigations involving software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical subsystems.
- Utilize system logs, telemetry, diagnostic tools, and lab equipment to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Create and maintain automated test suites for system, API, and application-level validation.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows to support release readiness and continuous quality assurance.
- Partner with development, DevOps, manufacturing, and support teams to improve test coverage and resolve field-reported issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in system validation, quality engineering, test engineering, or a similar role supporting complex products.
- Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems, embedded devices, IoT platforms, or connected products.
- Demonstrated success validating complete hardware and software solutions in production-like environments.
- Strong test automation and scripting experience, preferably using Python.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across both software and hardware domains.
- Comfortable working with physical devices, laboratory equipment, and hands-on testing environments.
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, backend services, and distributed systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms, containerized environments, and cloud-connected architectures.
- Knowledge of observability, system monitoring, reliability testing, and performance validation methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
