Founding Engineer, AI Infrastructure & Performance
Our client is an early-stage infrastructure company building software that improves the efficiency, performance, and utilization of large-scale compute environments. Their technology helps automate complex optimization tasks traditionally performed by highly specialized systems and infrastructure engineers.
They are seeking highly technical engineers with backgrounds in distributed systems, performance engineering, high-performance computing, machine learning infrastructure, or large-scale backend platforms.
What You'll Work On
- Systems GPU performance optimization
- Distributed computing platforms
- CUDA, Triton, TensorRT, NCCL
- High-performance runtime and execution environments
- Infrastructure scaling and reliability
- Memory and resource utilization improvements
- Large-scale compute and networking challenges
- Performance profiling, benchmarking, and troubleshooting
- C++ and/or Rust development
Ideal Background
- 2-5 years of experience in systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering
- Strong foundation in operating systems, networking, and distributed systems
- Experience building or optimizing performance-critical software
- Ability to clearly articulate architectural decisions, bottlenecks, and trade-offs
- Interest in working closely with founders and taking ownership of core technical initiatives
Role is 5 days onsite in San Francisco.
