Firmware Engineer

Glocomms is partnered with a leading semiconductor firm seeking a Firmware Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This individual will play a key role in developing next-generation SSD firmware, helping drive the architecture, implementation, testing, and optimization of advanced storage solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge NVMe and PCIe technologies while partnering closely with firmware, hardware, and validation teams to deliver high-performance, enterprise-grade products.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance firmware for SSD and storage controller products.
  • Implement and optimize NVMe and PCIe protocol functionality, including command processing and host communication.
  • Develop firmware features focused on performance, reliability, compliance, and interoperability.
  • Perform firmware validation, debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Support protocol compliance, system integration, and engineering validation activities.
  • Analyze firmware logs and debug complex issues using industry-standard tools and analyzers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, test planning, and product release activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development.
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience.
  • Experience with SSD firmware, storage technologies, or semiconductor products.
  • Knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, NAND Flash, and storage controller architectures.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development and debugging environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
