As part of their ongoing digital transformation initiatives, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Data Architect to play a key role in the migration of their on-premise data systems to Microsoft Azure.
Position Overview:
The Freelance Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust and scalable data architecture that aligns with the organization's business objectives and supports a seamless transition to the Azure cloud platform. This role requires a deep understanding of data management, security, and migration strategies, as well as hands-on experience with Azure services.
Responsibilities:
Assessment and Planning:
- Conduct a thorough analysis of existing on-premise data architecture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and data dependencies.
- Develop a comprehensive migration plan, considering data volumes, structures, and security constraints.
Azure Architecture Design:
- Design scalable and efficient data solutions on the Azure platform.
- Select appropriate Azure services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
Migration Execution:
- Lead and coordinate the execution of the migration plan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition of data to Azure.
- Implement data validation processes to ensure accuracy post-migration.
Performance Optimization:
- Optimize data workflows and processes to enhance performance in the Azure environment.
- Fine-tune configurations to achieve optimal resource utilization.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue resolution.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, migration processes, and configurations.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect with a focus on cloud migrations, preferably in the finance sector.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services related to data, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, etc.
- Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and governance principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
