Junior to Lead level | Europe | Specialty Insurance
We are supporting a global consulting and technology business that is building out a specialist insurance technology team across Europe.
The focus is on Verisk Rulebook / Sequel Rulebook, insurance product configuration, rating logic, Excel-to-platform pricing migration, and testing within specialty insurance / London Market environments.
This isn't a generic configuration or QA role. The work sits right in the middle of insurance pricing, underwriting rules, product logic and platform delivery, so insurance domain understanding matters as much as the technology itself.
The client is open to a wide range of profiles, from junior configurators through to senior testing leads.
What you could be working on
- Configuring insurance product rules, rating factors, validation logic and workflows in Rulebook
- Migrating Excel-based pricing models into platform configurations
- Testing rating outputs against pricing models and underwriting scenarios
- Supporting UAT, regression, defect management and release readiness
- Working closely with underwriters, BAs, configurators and testing teams
- For senior profiles: owning testing strategy, defect governance and stakeholder leadership
Who we're looking for
We're open to a range of profiles:
- Early-career (typically 1-3 years): insurance technology, configuration, testing or BA background. Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Mid-level (typically 4-7 years): Rulebook, Guidewire, rating engines, rules engines, insurance product configuration or pricing systems.
- Senior / Lead (typically 8+ years): ownership of configuration or testing delivery, ideally with stakeholder, governance or test strategy experience.
Direct Rulebook experience is ideal, but the client is open to adjacent backgrounds:
- Guidewire (Rating / Billing / PolicyCenter)
- Insurance rating engines or rules engines (Drools, FICO Blaze, IBM ODM, InRule, etc.)
- Pricing / underwriting systems
- London Market, Lloyd's, MGA, broker or specialty insurance experience

This is part of a wider European build-out, not a one-off backfill. For junior candidates, it's a strong entry into a niche, high-demand area. For experienced candidates, it's a chance to lead delivery on complex Rulebook / rating engine work for major insurance clients.
Location
Open across Europe, with permantent, local contracts - UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, France, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy. Hybrid / remote flexibility depending on location.
