Senior Growth Data Scientist

About the Role

This role partners closely with company leadership to solve a fundamental challenge: how to scale a high‑growth business efficiently and sustainably. You will work at the intersection of analytics, growth strategy, and product decision‑making, helping the organization understand what drives acquisition, liquidity, and long‑term retention.

The position focuses on deeply analyzing a two‑sided platform and uncovering the underlying drivers behind user behavior, conversion, and engagement. Your work will involve investigating performance trends, testing hypotheses, and translating complex data into actionable insights that inform product, pricing, and go‑to‑market strategy.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys tackling ambiguous, high‑impact problems end‑to‑end and is motivated by finding clear answers to difficult questions.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Acquisition

  • Design, test, and evaluate pricing and incentive strategies to improve conversion and demand while maintaining healthy unit economics
  • Analyze acquisition channels to understand customer lifetime value, cost efficiency, and scalability
  • Identify opportunities to improve organic and referral‑driven growth through product and behavioral insights

Marketplace Health & Retention

  • Analyze supply‑and‑demand dynamics to understand how inventory availability affects growth and engagement
  • Identify early user behaviors that correlate with long‑term retention and repeat usage
  • Develop models or analyses to surface churn risk and inform proactive intervention strategies

Product Conversion & Experimentation

  • Own detailed funnel analysis across key user journeys to identify drop‑offs and optimization opportunities
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to design experiments and evaluate results with statistical rigor
  • Ensure insights lead to measurable improvements rather than isolated feature launches

Requirements

  • Strong analytical curiosity and persistence when working through complex, ambiguous problems
  • Deep understanding of growth metrics, experimentation, and performance analysis in consumer or marketplace contexts
  • Experience working closely with product teams on funnels, experiments, and user behavior analysis
  • Several years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related growth‑focused role (flexible for exceptional candidates)
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in a scripting language for modeling or analysis
  • Comfort working with modern analytics stacks and data visualization tools
  • Clear communicator who can translate data into insights that influence decisions
