Emerging Network Architect
Emerging Network Architect
We're partnered with an HPC-focused organization that's building next‑generation network architectures to power large‑scale AI, high‑performance computing, and advanced scientific workloads. They're hiring an Emerging Network Architect who can shape the future of their platform by driving innovation across high‑speed interconnects, system design, and end‑to‑end cluster performance.
This is a fully onsite role and requires deep technical expertise as well as hands‑on evaluation of new hardware in a lab environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Exploring new network architectures and technologies to improve system performance, model FLOPS utilization, and efficiency.
- Building strong technical partnerships with leading network vendors and helping influence future product roadmaps.
- Recommending and validating hardware and software solutions aligned with scalability and performance goals.
- Working directly with internal teams and customers to understand HPC workloads and their impact on architecture decisions.
- Running benchmarks, testing pre‑production hardware, and identifying bottlenecks in high‑speed networking.
- Collaborating with compute and storage architects to build cohesive, end‑to‑end HPC solutions.
- Staying ahead of emerging HPC technologies and trends across fabrics, interconnects, and network architectures.
What They're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field, plus strong experience in HPC architecture or systems engineering.
- Deep knowledge of network architectures and interconnect topologies for large‑scale HPC systems.
- Hands‑on experience with high‑speed fabrics such as InfiniBand, NVLink, RoCE/Ethernet, or Omni‑Path.
- Strong understanding of packet switching, routing algorithms, flow control, and congestion management.
- Experience with performance modeling and benchmarking tools (OSU, MPI, STREAM, etc.).
- Background working with distributed storage systems such as Lustre or VAST and understanding their network impact.
- Proven experience in designing or tuning HPC clusters, including Linux performance optimization.
- Bonus: familiarity with emerging technologies like CXL, PCIe Gen6, or DPUs.
- Comfortable working directly with customers to gather requirements and deliver scalable system designs.
