Role Overview
As the Head of the Lisbon IT Hub, you will be responsible for the overall management, strategic growth, and operational excellence of the site. You will act as the primary point of contact for all local IT operations, ensuring alignment with global business objectives and compliance with Portuguese regulations. This role requires a visionary leader with strong execution capabilities, capable of building high-performing teams and cultivating a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Site Management
Lead the establishment and ongoing management of the Lisbon IT Hub, ensuring it operates efficiently, delivers high-quality services, and aligns with the broader organisational strategy.Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the local representative for the hub, liaising with group leadership, external partners, and regulatory bodies. Act as a bridge between local operations and global governance.Talent Acquisition & Development
Oversee recruitment, on-boarding, and career development for all hub employees. Build a diverse and skilled team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.Culture & Collaboration
Champion a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance work environment. Promote cross-functional teamwork, knowledge sharing, and innovation across the hub and wider organisation.Operational Excellence
Ensure the hub delivers reliable, secure, and scalable IT services. Monitor performance metrics, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure full compliance with Portuguese labour laws, data protection regulations (including GDPR), and internal governance standards. Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.Budget & Resource Planning
Manage the hub's budget, resource allocation, and vendor relationships. Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining high service quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT leadership, site management, or regional operations roles within a global organisation.
- Strong understanding of IT service delivery, infrastructure, and operational frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in Portuguese or German is highly desirable.
- Experience working in dual-leadership or matrix structures, with a track record of successful cross-border collaboration.
- Deep knowledge of compliance, data protection, and local regulatory requirements.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capabilities and a passion for building something new.
