IT Director
Glocomms is partnered with a leading provider of grid reliability software and energy market solutions to identify a strategic and experienced Director of IT. With a 25-year legacy of innovation, this organization is committed to delivering affordable energy through agile technology and deep market expertise. This is a remote opportunity, with preference for candidates based in Massachusetts.
The Director of IT will lead the company's technology strategy, ensuring robust IT security, managing infrastructure, coordinating software deployments, and maintaining strong partnerships with managed service providers (MSPs). This role is critical to aligning IT operations with business goals and supporting the company's mission to deliver reliable and affordable energy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce IT governance policies and procedures to ensure operational integrity and security.
- Lead business continuity planning and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the company's cloud strategy and optimize infrastructure for scalability and performance.
- Manage hardware and software assets across the organization.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the MSP, ensuring service quality and accountability.
- Monitor and report on IT performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee IT procurement processes, ensuring cost-effective and strategic vendor relationships.
- Ensure secure and compliant software releases, coordinating with development teams.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement remediation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive IT leadership experience.
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure management.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Experience with software deployment and release management.
- Demonstrated success in budget oversight and project management.
- Familiarity with the energy industry is highly desirable.
Additional Information
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position. While the role is fully remote, occasional travel to the company's primary sites in Massachusetts and Alabama will be required.
