Lead Data Scientist
Our Client is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to help drive their clean energy transition. This is a high-impact role focused on forecasting the future of distributed energy resources (DERs), electrification, and decarbonization policy.

You'll be at the forefront of energy innovation-building models that influence long-term planning, regulatory filings, and strategic decisions across electric and gas systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop long-term forecasts for DERs, DSM programs, and electrification trends.
- Model the adoption and grid impact of solar, EVs, heat pumps, and storage.
- Collaborate with internal teams and regulators to align forecasts with policy and business goals.
- Present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including regulatory testimony.
Ideal Background:
- 5+ years in forecasting, energy analytics, or policy modeling (regulated industry experience is a plus).
- Strong programming skills in Python or R; SQL and cloud tools like Azure/Databricks are a bonus.
- Advanced degree in economics, statistics, energy, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate data into strategy.
Location: Boston, MA area or New York City Area
