Cloud Security Engineer

Glocomms is partnered with a real estate insurer, seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of secure cloud environments across Azure. This role involves working with cutting-edge security tools and technologies to protect cloud-native applications, workloads, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud security, scripting, and infrastructure as code, along with a passion for mentoring and driving strategic security initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cloud security strategies across Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Manage threat detection, vulnerability assessments, and incident response processes.
  • Configure and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems for cloud environments.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Design and deploy secure cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (ARM, Bicep, CloudFormation, JSON).
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with industry standards and frameworks.
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members and stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage cloud security projects from planning to execution.
  • Evaluate and recommend security tools and vendors (CNAPP, CSPM, CWPP).
  • Collaborate with development teams to secure CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience securing public cloud environments (Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with network security, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Familiarity with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tooling.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, PowerShell, BASH.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native security tools and platforms (CNAPP, CSPM, CWPP).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.

Preferred Certifications

  • Cloud Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Associate
  • Cybersecurity Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CASP+
