Overview
We are seeking a visionary VP of Software Engineering to lead the next evolution of our global engineering organization. This is not a traditional engineering leadership role. We are looking for someone who has successfully transformed software organizations from conventional development models into AI-native, highly automated, agent-driven engineering environments.
The ideal candidate has firsthand experience implementing AI-powered engineering workflows, deploying cloud-based software agents, and creating fully agentic software development loops where autonomous systems own significant portions of the software delivery lifecycle. They will partner closely with executive leadership to scale these capabilities across a global engineering organization of approximately 200 engineers spanning North America, Europe, and India.
This leader will drive both the technical transformation and the organizational change management required to thrive in an AI-first engineering future.
Key Responsibilities
AI-Native Engineering Leadership
- Lead the transformation of a global software engineering organization toward AI-driven and agentic software development practices.
- Develop and execute a strategy for autonomous software delivery utilizing advanced AI agents, cloud-based automation, and emerging engineering technologies.
- Scale engineering productivity through highly automated development workflows, reducing manual effort across the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize AI tooling, coding agents, and autonomous development platforms.
Organizational Transformation
- Guide engineering leaders and teams through significant changes in how software is designed, built, tested, and deployed.
- Create a clear vision for the future of engineering and gain buy-in across all levels of the organization.
- Lead change management initiatives focused on maintaining engagement, ownership, and purpose as automation expands.
- Build frameworks that help engineers maximize value while working alongside increasingly autonomous systems.
Engineering Leadership
- Partner with Engineering Directors across a global organization to establish best practices and operating models.
- Drive software architecture, platform strategy, engineering excellence, and delivery execution.
- Ensure the organization remains on the forefront of modern software engineering practices.
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering leadership teams.
Strategic Innovation
- Continuously assess emerging AI engineering technologies and identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Establish metrics and success criteria for AI adoption, engineering efficiency, and business impact.
- Help shape the long-term vision of the company's technology organization.
Required Experience
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with progressive leadership responsibility..
- Proven track record implementing AI-powered software development workflows within production environments.
- Experience deploying autonomous agents or cloud-based AI systems that actively participate in software development processes.
- Strong background in modern software engineering, cloud platforms, developer productivity, and platform engineering.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational change and technology adoption across large engineering teams.
- Experience managing globally distributed engineering organizations.
Preferred Background
We are particularly interested in leaders who have:
- Led AI-native engineering transformations at high-growth technology companies.
- Built or scaled agentic engineering platforms where AI agents own meaningful portions of the development lifecycle.
- Experience from innovative technology companies, AI startups, cloud-native organizations, or elite engineering environments.
- Operated at the Director, Senior Director, VP, or equivalent leadership level within highly technical organizations.
- Worked at companies recognized for engineering innovation rather than traditional enterprise software environments.

Within the first 12 months, this leader will:
- Establish a roadmap for scaling agentic software development across the organization.
