Principal Teamcenter X Developer / Architect
About Opportunity
Our client a leading organization undergoing a large-scale PLM transformation, is seeking a Principal Teamcenter X Developer / Architect to serve as the technical lead for its enterprise Teamcenter environment.
This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating Teamcenter customizations while helping drive a major migration and modernization initiative. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in Teamcenter development, architecture, integrations, and platform governance.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture for Teamcenter customizations, extensions, and integrations.
- Design and develop server-side Teamcenter customizations using:
- ITK (C/C++)
- Custom handlers
- User exits
- SOA services
- BMIDE extensions
- Lead Active Workspace (AWC) customization efforts, including:
- Custom commands
- Client-side event handlers
- JSON view models
- UI extensions
- Architect integrations between Teamcenter and enterprise applications such as:
- ERP systems
- CAD systems
- Manufacturing platforms
- Quality and downstream business systems
- Establish engineering standards, reusable development patterns, and architecture best practices.
- Lead technical decision-making for PLM transformation and migration initiatives.
- Partner with functional analysts, administrators, infrastructure teams, and external implementation partners.
- Mentor and guide developers across the PLM organization.
- Provide technical leadership for production support, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on Siemens Teamcenter development experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Teamcenter
- Teamcenter X (preferred)
- ITK
- BMIDE
- Active Workspace (AWC)
- SOA services
- Experience developing:
- Custom business objects
- Workflow handlers
- User exits
- Server-side extensions
- Custom properties and methods
- Experience integrating Teamcenter with enterprise applications, including ERP, CAD, manufacturing, or quality systems.
- Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture and software engineering best practices.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD processes, and modern development practices.

- Teamcenter X implementation or migration experience.
- PLM migration or transformation project experience.
