Principal PLM Developer
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and development efforts for a cloud-based PLM platform, including custom applications, integrations, workflows, and platform extensions.
- Establish technical standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices across the development organization.
- Design and oversee integrations between PLM solutions and enterprise systems such as ERP, manufacturing, engineering, and quality platforms.
- Provide hands-on leadership for complex development initiatives, architecture reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Guide user interface customization, business process automation, and data model enhancements.
- Drive software quality through code reviews, testing standards, source control governance, and CI/CD processes.
- Partner with architects, analysts, administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and supportable solutions.
- Mentor engineers and serve as the primary technical advisor for platform strategy and future enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Extensive experience developing and customizing enterprise PLM platforms within large-scale environments.
- Strong background in application architecture, systems integration, workflow automation, and enterprise software development.
- Proficiency with object-oriented programming languages, web technologies, APIs, and service-based architectures.
- Experience integrating business-critical applications across engineering, manufacturing, and operational ecosystems.
- Knowledge of relational databases, software design patterns, performance tuning, and application support.
- Familiarity with version control, automated deployment pipelines, secure development practices, and modern engineering methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, establish development standards, and mentor engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within regulated or highly controlled environments is preferred.
