Senior Network Security Specialist
Glocomms is partnering with a fast-growing technology organization operating large-scale cloud and compute infrastructure to find a Senior Network Security Specialist. This hands-on role focuses on designing, implementing, and securing complex network environments across both on-premise and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) across cloud and on-prem environments
- Act as a subject matter expert for network security, supporting complex technical decisions
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, and IT teams to align security controls
- Develop and maintain security standards, policies, and documentation
- Support network segmentation and micro-segmentation initiatives
- Participate in architecture reviews for new systems and integrations
- Identify opportunities to improve automation and security processes
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to network-based threats
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in network security engineering
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, switching, load balancing)
- Experience securing both on-prem and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with network security technologies and monitoring tools
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001)
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across teams
- Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent)
- Experience with advanced data center networking (e.g., VXLAN/EVPN)
- Knowledge of firewall automation and scripting
- Exposure to SOC environments or managed security services
