Overview

This role sits within a growing platform engineering team that's central to a multi-year cloud transformation. The team is focused on modernizing infrastructure, improving developer experience, and enabling faster, safer delivery of services across the business.

They're looking for someone who can:

  • Lead modernization efforts across AWS EKS and Azure AKS, optimizing cloud-native workloads for performance and reliability.
  • Integrate Istio into CI/CD pipelines to streamline microservices deployment and traffic management.
  • Build and maintain observability dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
  • Use Terraform and Helm Charts to manage infrastructure and application deployments in a modular, reusable, and secure way.
  • Drive FinOps practices to ensure cloud spend is optimized and aligned with the company's mission of keeping investing affordable.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams using AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift, and serverless tools like Lambda and Step Functions.
  • Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Strengthen cloud security posture through IAM policies, SCPs, Config Rules, and other governance tools.
  • Contribute to a culture of documentation, mentorship, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cloud engineering and DevOps in large-scale, production-grade environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and modern DevOps tooling.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code, automation, and cloud security best practices.
  • Familiarity with observability tools and performance monitoring at scale.
  • Bonus if you've worked in financial services or other highly regulated environments.
  • Must be based on the East Coast of the U.S. to support team collaboration and time zone alignment.
