We are looking for a Senior AI Systems Modernization Developer to join a specialized engineering team focused on applying modern AI techniques to transform and evolve large, complex software systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across diverse codebases, exploring how AI can accelerate development workflows, and solving deeply technical problems in systems at scale.
You will work at the intersection of software engineering and AI-enabled development, helping define how complex systems are analyzed, translated, and modernized. This is a highly collaborative role with exposure to a wide range of technologies, codebases, and architectural patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and improvement of AI-driven workflows for analyzing and modernizing complex software systems
- Investigate and resolve challenges related to code translation, system behavior, and cross-environment compatibility
- Build tools and automation that support large-scale modernization and transformation efforts
- Develop testing strategies to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance across evolved systems
- Identify patterns and approaches that improve the quality and consistency of system-level transformations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support adoption of modern development practices and tooling
- Explore and evaluate new techniques to improve development velocity and system maintainability
- Contribute to internal documentation, knowledge sharing, and best practices across engineering teams
Qualifications
- Strong interest in applying AI and modern tooling to software engineering workflows
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Experience working with complex or legacy systems alongside modern software architectures
- Experience working in lower-level or systems programming environments, particularly with languages such as C, C++, or similar
- Familiarity with multiple programming paradigms and languages, including exposure to both legacy and modern systems
- Experience working in cloud or distributed environments
- Ability to break down and reason through large, interconnected systems
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-moving environment
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with languages such as Fortran, Rust, or other performance-oriented systems languages
- Experience working on system migration, modernization, or large-scale refactoring efforts
- Exposure to AI or automation applied to software development workflows
- Familiarity with secure, regulated, or enterprise environments
- Experience working across diverse or multi-language codebases
