Lead Security Engineer (Threat Intelligence)
Location: DC Metro Area (Hybrid; Remote considered for exceptional candidates)
Glocomms is partnering with a global payments and technology company who is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to advance and operationalize its threat intelligence capabilities, across a broad and fast‑moving security organization. This position supports a global Threat Management function that includes detection engineering, incident response, and automation‑driven operations.
The role blends strategic influence with hands‑on technical depth to mature the organization's threat capabilities, and mentor teammates while contributing directly to critical security initiatives across a large enterprise landscape.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the company's threat intelligence strategy, ensuring outputs align with enterprise risk priorities and security operations.
  • Translate raw threat data into actionable intelligence for SOC, Detection Engineering, Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, and broader business partners.
  • Architect and maintain scalable threat intelligence tooling, integrations, and automation workflows to support intelligence collection, enrichment, and processing.
  • Conduct in‑depth research into threat actors, campaigns, malware, and TTPs using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, identifying relevance to a global payments environment.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, and product/security teams to embed intelligence into technology decisions, risk assessments, and operational workflows.
  • Coach junior analysts on intelligence production, investigative techniques, and applied threat analysis.
  • Produce clear technical reports, assessments, and briefings to inform leadership and operational partners.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, in‑person institution.
  • Strong track record of professional commitment and progression.
  • 8+ years of experience in information technology, with at least 5 years focused on threat intelligence.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, including ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of attacker techniques, evolving threat trends, and modern intrusion methods.
  • Proficiency with at least one scripting language or strong capabilities in low‑code automation platforms.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with global teams across diverse cultures and time zones.
  • Background in building or maturing threat intelligence programs, including workflows, tooling, and automation.
  • Direct exposure to incident response or detection engineering, ideally where intelligence directly informed operational actions.
  • Interest in mentoring and developing early‑career analysts.
