Infrastructure Support Specialist
Glocomms is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Support Specialist to join a leading manufacturing company. This role is centered around building, maintaining, and securing IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
- Deploy and maintain physical and virtual server environments.
- Manage storage platforms and ensure reliable backup and recovery processes.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address issues through troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Administer virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and maintain high-availability configurations.
- Configure and manage network security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Apply best practices for server security, including access control, antivirus, and vulnerability management.
- Provide hands-on technical support for hardware and software across the organization.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery strategies, including backup validation and restoration testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure configurations and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with managed service providers, internal IT teams, and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, support agreements, and warranty services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in infrastructure or network/server support roles.
- Preferably has certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, or VCP.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and enterprise-grade hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Proficiency in server technologies (Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory).
- Experience with virtualization platforms and hybrid cloud environments (vSphere).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
