Position: Senior / Staff Information Security Engineer
Location: New York NY, Austin TX, San Francisco CA, Seattle WA - Hybrid
Compensation: $225,000 - $350,000

Glocomms are partnered with a growing Cloud AI firm to assist with international growth into the US. We're seeking a seasoned Information Security Engineer to join a lean, high-performing security team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about building secure, scalable systems. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping security strategy, implementing robust defenses, and ensuring the integrity of our infrastructure and customer data.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of security initiatives across diverse infrastructure, including cloud and bare-metal deployments.
• Architect and automate security systems and telemetry pipelines (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, EDR) that support high-throughput environments and integrate with infrastructure-as-code and scheduling platforms.
• Manage incident response efforts, threat hunting, and drive continuous improvement in detection and remediation processes.
• Promote and implement zero-trust principles, including identity and access management, secrets management, secure authentication, and privilege minimization.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to align with standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Integrate security practices into development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide mentorship to team members, influence technical direction, and communicate risk assessments to leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity or infrastructure security, with a minimum of 3 years focused on securing large-scale cloud or high-performance computing environments.
• Strong expertise in container security (e.g., Kubernetes), Linux systems, and network architecture.
• Hands-on experience with security tooling and frameworks, including SIEM/EDR solutions and MITRE ATT&CK-based threat modeling.
• Proficient in scripting or programming (Python, Go, Bash) and familiar with automation tools like Terraform and Helm.
• Solid understanding of identity management, encryption, and modern authentication protocols (e.g., OIDC, SAML).
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and the ability to translate compliance requirements into actionable engineering tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPU-based infrastructure, AI workloads, or edge computing environments.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence, telemetry systems, or kernel-level observability (e.g., eBPF).
• Contributions to open-source security tools or published vulnerabilities.
• Certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, GCPN, or KCNA.
