For a client in the Life Sciences industry, we are seeking an IT Program Manager to lead a high-visibility Observability & Monitoring transformation program.
This role is accountable for end-to-end delivery of the program, coordinating across infrastructure, applications, cloud platforms, vendors, and internal IT teams, while engaging senior stakeholders in a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
Success in this role requires strong experience in observability and monitoring, a solid understanding of enterprise IT landscapes, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-expectation setting.
Key Responsibilities
● Own and lead the end-to-end Observability & Monitoring Program lifecycle - from initiation through execution to value realization.
● Establish and govern program frameworks, including decision-making models, success metrics, and steering structures.
● Drive enterprise-wide observability transformation, shifting from traditional monitoring to modern models (metrics, logs, traces, events, SLOs).
● Integrate multiple initiatives into a unified program roadmap, managing dependencies, risks, and delivery alignment.
● Act as the central authority across platforms, vendors, and internal teams.
● Ensure observability capabilities directly support performance, availability, resilience, and operational excellence.
● Partner with architecture, SRE, and operations teams to align technical strategy with business outcomes.
● Oversee program financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
● Provide executive-level reporting, insights, and decision support to senior leadership.
● Serve as an escalation point for complex delivery, resourcing, and cross-program issues.
Required Experience and Skills
● 15+ years of experience in enterprise technology delivery, including 7+ years leading large-scale programs.
● Strong background in enterprise IT environments, cloud platforms, and observability/monitoring concepts.
● Proven ability in program governance, financial management, and stakeholder leadership at executive level.
● Deep understanding of observability principles and operational excellence practices.
● Ability to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and scalable solutions.
● Strong communication skills with experience influencing Executives, Senior stakeholders and facilitating decisions.
● High level of accountability, strategic thinking, and outcome-driven execution.
● Experience leading observability transformation programs. (Preferred)
● Background in large-scale enterprise or platform transformations. (Preferred)
● Certifications such as PgMP, PMP, SAFe, or ITIL. (Preferred)
