Principal Network Automation Engineer

Glocomms is partnered with a rapidly-scaling cloud infrastructure company specializing in high-performance GPU clusters for AI workloads. As the company expands its global platform within the United States, it is seeking a Principal Network Automation Engineer to lead the design and automation of scalable, multi-tenant infrastructure optimized for performance, reliability, and observability.

This role is a cornerstone of the engineering organization, driving the evolution of network systems that support large-scale distributed compute environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a systems mindset, and a passion for building resilient, automated infrastructure.

The ideal candidate excels in startup environments where infrastructure is evolving rapidly, systems are built from the ground up, and engineers are empowered to make architectural decisions and drive automation at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement scalable network infrastructure to support high-throughput GPU clusters and HPC workloads.
  • Design and maintain systems for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of network and compute resources.
  • Lead development of network automation workflows for deployment, monitoring, and remediation across multi-tenant environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware, platform, and software teams to integrate modular components and ensure seamless operations.
  • Support containerized workloads and orchestration platforms, including encapsulation strategies and IP management.
  • Drive observability initiatives using modern telemetry and monitoring frameworks to ensure infrastructure health and performance.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices and self-service automation platforms that empower internal teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Deep understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, IPv4/6, DHCP, DNS, routing).
  • Experience with high-performance computing environments or large-scale GPU clusters.
  • Familiarity with container networking and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes CNI).
  • Exposure to infrastructure automation and configuration management, with flexibility around specific tools.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills across network and compute layers.
  • Comfort working with open-source technologies and contributing to internal tooling.

This is a high-priority, full-time position (no C2C or contract-to-hire). The company is looking for a principal-level engineer who can lead initiatives, mentor others, and shape the future of infrastructure for AI at scale. Interested candidates should apply immediately.
