OT Network Security Engineer
Glocomms is partnered with a cutting edge power and energy organization. We are seeking a mission-focused OT Network Security Engineer to join their 24/7 Operations Group supporting the security and reliability of our Bulk Electric System (BES). This role is responsible for securing and maintaining the integrity of our Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, including SCADA environments, substations, and field devices. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in network administration, threat detection, and compliance with NERC/CIP standards, along with hands-on experience in transmission utility operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security-centric network infrastructure for OT environments.
- Monitor and analyze OT network traffic and logs for threat detection, anomalies, and unauthorized access.
- Ensure compliance with NERC/CIP and other relevant security and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues both remotely and on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to 24/7 operations.
- Configure and manage multiple vendor hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) in OT networks.
- Collaborate with IT, engineering, and compliance teams to maintain secure and resilient OT systems.
- Participate in incident response and crisis management for OT-related cybersecurity events.
- Maintain accurate documentation including network diagrams, asset inventories, and compliance records.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews with technical evidence and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years in network administration, with recent experience in OT/SCADA environments.
- Strong knowledge of network security, threat detection, and compliance (NERC/CIP).
- Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting, log analysis, and multi-vendor hardware.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., DNP3, Modbus) and OT security standards (IEC 62443, NIST 800-82).
- Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+ (required); CCNP (preferred).
- Excellent communication, crisis response, and time management skills.
