We are looking for a Founding Frontend Engineer to help build and define the user-facing layer of an AI-driven platform operating at the intersection of data, research, and real-world decision-making. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines strong frontend expertise with product intuition and is excited to shape both the technical foundation and user experience from the ground up.
You will work closely with founding engineers, researchers, and product leadership to design and build interfaces that make complex system outputs intuitive, interpretable, and actionable. This is a highly hands-on role with significant ownership in a true early-stage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and contemporary UI frameworks
- Own the frontend architecture and establish best practices early in the product lifecycle
- Translate complex data and system outputs into intuitive, high-quality user experiences
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers and research teams to define data flows and interfaces
- Build interfaces that support dynamic, data-heavy, and model-driven workflows
- Contribute to design systems, interaction patterns, and overall frontend standards
- Work directly with product and technical stakeholders to shape features from concept through launch
- Optimize performance, scalability, and usability across the frontend stack
- Help define the engineering culture, tooling, and technical direction as part of the founding team
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building modern frontend or full stack applications
- Strong proficiency with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling
- Experience building and maintaining scalable, production-grade web applications
- Strong product intuition and ability to design user-centric interfaces
- Experience working in early-stage or fast-moving startup environments
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and take ownership of complex problems
- Strong collaboration skills working across engineering, product, and research teams
- Interest or experience working with AI-driven systems, data platforms, or model-based products
Nice to Have
- Experience building interfaces for data-intensive or scientific applications
- Exposure to ML, AI systems, or model outputs in product environments
- Experience working closely with research or data science teams
- Background contributing to design systems or frontend infrastructure
- Experience in highly technical or domain-heavy product environments
