Director of Network Security
Glocomms is partnered with a world-class academic medical center committed to patient-centered care and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion, is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Network Security, reporting into the Senior Director of Infrastructure Security. This leadership role will focus on securing the organization's network infrastructure and engineering systems. The ideal candidate will drive strategic initiatives, lead a high-performing team, and ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical network systems across a complex healthcare environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the network security strategy aligned with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of network security engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement security architecture for network infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure access controls.
- Oversee network traffic monitoring, incident response, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, compliance monitoring, and security posture evaluations.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring third-party solutions meet security standards.
- Coordinate and document security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
- Deliver security awareness training to technical and non-technical staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, HITRUST).
- Collaborate with IT leadership on budget planning and resource allocation for network security initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- 5+ years of leadership experience in network or infrastructure security
- Expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and F5 technologies
- Proficient in intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPN technologies, and secure access control systems
- Strong background in network architecture, firewalls, and traffic monitoring
- Experience with regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, HITRUST) and compliance monitoring
- Skilled in risk assessments, incident response, and security posture improvement
- Effective team leadership, mentoring, and vendor management capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Experience in academic medical centers or similarly complex environments preferred
