About the role

  • Design and enhance long-term transmission models that improve grid reliability and market simulation accuracy.
  • Build automation tools to streamline model updates, data processing, and reporting workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including system engineers, market analysts, and software developers-to integrate modeling with real-world power system applications.
  • Manage and optimize relational databases (MS Access, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) to support large-scale data operations.
  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover insights that inform infrastructure planning and market design.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and provide support for internal and external stakeholders using modeling tools.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, C#, R, VBA, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Access, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with electric power systems and/or energy markets.
  • Understanding of power flow analysis, market modeling tools, or grid simulation concepts.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
