About the role
- Design and enhance long-term transmission models that improve grid reliability and market simulation accuracy.
- Build automation tools to streamline model updates, data processing, and reporting workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including system engineers, market analysts, and software developers-to integrate modeling with real-world power system applications.
- Manage and optimize relational databases (MS Access, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) to support large-scale data operations.
- Analyze complex datasets to uncover insights that inform infrastructure planning and market design.
- Contribute to technical documentation and provide support for internal and external stakeholders using modeling tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, C#, R, VBA, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with MS Access, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Familiarity with electric power systems and/or energy markets.
- Understanding of power flow analysis, market modeling tools, or grid simulation concepts.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
