IT Manager
Location: Remote (Boston, MA area strongly preferred)
Glocomms is partnered with a leading provider of grid reliability software and energy market solutions to identify a skilled and proactive IT Manager. With over 25 years of experience driving innovation in the energy sector, this organization is focused on delivering affordable, reliable energy through agile technology and deep market expertise. This is a remote role, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Greater Boston area.
The IT Manager will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the company's technology operations. This includes managing infrastructure, ensuring IT security, coordinating software deployments, and working closely with external service providers. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience across IT systems and a collaborative mindset to help drive operational excellence. This role requires expertise in strategic IT leadership, cybersecurity and compliance, and cloud infrastructure management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Align IT initiatives with business goals and support cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Implement and maintain IT governance policies and procedures to support secure and efficient operations.
- Support business continuity planning and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and optimize systems for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Maintain hardware and software assets across the organization.
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for the managed service provider (MSP), ensuring service quality and responsiveness.
- Monitor IT performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee IT procurement and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate secure and compliant software releases with internal teams.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations or infrastructure management.
- Proven ability to lead IT initiatives that align with business strategy.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity protocols, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure optimization.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Prior experience in the energy industry is a plus.
Additional Information
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position. While the role is fully remote, candidates must be able to travel to the company's primary sites in Massachusetts and Alabama as needed. Preference will be given to applicants located in or near the Boston area.
