Lead Network Security Engineer
Glocomms are working with a high‑growth, technology‑driven organization who is seeking a Lead Network Security Engineer to help design, secure, and scale its next‑generation, hyperscale infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of network architecture, security engineering, and automation-ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, leading technical initiatives, and shaping a modern security roadmap.
What you'll do:
- Lead security architecture initiatives across trusted, untrusted, and DMZ environments
- Mentor mid‑level/junior engineers and guide complex troubleshooting efforts
- Serve as the escalation point for critical network security incidents
- Implement and manage advanced security technologies (firewalls, proxies, segmentation, hardening, threat profiling)
- Oversee vulnerability assessments, pentest coordination, and remediation strategies
- Build automation playbooks and integrate tools for lifecycle management (Python, Terraform, vendor APIs, Jenkins, Git, etc.)
- Drive Zero Trust, segmentation, and secure cloud networking best practices (AWS/Azure)
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to embed security across the stack
What we're looking for:
- Deep experience in network & security engineering, including large‑scale architecture
- Strong protocol‑level understanding (TCP/UDP, routing, switching, load balancing, OSI)
- Expertise with major security vendors (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, F5)
- Strong understanding of VPNs, proxies, MACsec, IPsec, HTTPS, DNS, NTP, AAA
- Hands‑on automation/scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
- Leadership experience in senior/lead engineering roles
- Relevant certifications strongly preferred (CISSP, CCIE Security, GIAC, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
Nice to have:
- VxLAN EVPN data center experience
- Hybrid/multi‑cloud design exposure
- M&A integration work
- SOC/MSSP background
- Firewall automation experience
