Role Overview

We are seeking a Sales Manager to drive revenue growth through a combination of new business development and account management. This is an individual contributor role focused on selling data products and services to clients in the maritime, freight, and related sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in data sales, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients. Experience in the maritime or freight industry is highly desirable.


Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development:

    • Identify and engage prospective clients across shipping, trading, and financial sectors.
    • Develop tailored proposals and negotiate contracts to close deals.
  • Account Management:

    • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to maximize retention and upsell opportunities.
    • Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring clients derive maximum value from data products.
  • Market Intelligence:

    • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and client needs to inform sales strategy.
    • Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to enhance offerings.
  • Sales Reporting:

    • Track and report on pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5+ years in data sales, preferably within financial, commodities, or maritime sectors.
    • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a B2B environment.
  • Skills:

    • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Self-motivated with a hunter mindset and consultative approach.
  • Industry Knowledge:

    • Maritime/freight experience is a strong plus.
    • Understanding of shipping markets, freight indices, or derivatives is advantageous.
