Director, Security Operations
Glocomms is partnering with a growing life sciences organization that is seeking a Director of Security Operations to own and evolve its internal IT environment during a period of rapid growth. You'll partner closely with leadership, vendors, and end users to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Own the company's IT operations end-to-end, including identity & access management, security, SaaS tools, devices, and helpdesk
- Manage and optimize the relationship with a managed service provider
- Improve onboarding and offboarding through automation and better tooling
- Strengthen security posture, including phishing prevention, incident response, and security tooling decisions
- Lead access governance improvements across collaboration and content platforms
- Evaluate and implement new SaaS tools or migrations with minimal business disruption
- Drive pragmatic security standards and benchmarking, balancing risk and user experience
- Support internal teams with reliable, scalable IT systems in a fast-growing environment
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in IT, with significant ownership in a small or high-growth environment
- Broad IT background with strong information security exposure
- Hands-on experience with identity management, endpoint security, SaaS administration, and collaboration tools
- Experience managing vendors and MSPs
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365-based environments and modern IAM tools
- Experience with common security platforms (email security, endpoint detection, security awareness tools, etc.)
- Comfort supporting cloud-based environments (e.g., Azure, GCP)
- Exposure to administering enterprise AI or productivity platforms is a plus
- Background in life sciences or regulated environments preferred, but not required
