Role Overview:
As the Head of Sales - Payments, you will drive the go-to-market strategy and execution for the payments vertical. You'll lead a high-performing sales team, develop strategic partnerships, and expand the company's footprint with payment processors, payment service providers, and fintechs. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the executive team, with responsibility for revenue growth, market expansion, and customer success in the payments sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for the payments vertical, targeting payment processors, gateways, acquirers, and fintechs.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of enterprise sales professionals focused on the payments ecosystem.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to accelerate growth and market penetration.
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and close.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and customer success to deliver tailored solutions and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategy and product positioning.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and with key stakeholders in the payments space.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of enterprise sales experience, with at least 5 years in the payments or fintech industry.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including payment processors, gateways, acquirers, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Must be based in San Francisco, CA.
