The Role
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer focused on document processing, OCR, and data extraction quality.
This role will own mission-critical systems that transform complex, unstructured documents into reliable, usable data for AI-powered workflows. You will work across OCR, document understanding, extraction pipelines, validation systems, and workflow automation to ensure high-quality outputs from source documents.

What You'll Do
- Build and enhance OCR and document extraction systems
- Design pipelines for processing PDFs, spreadsheets, images, and structured or unstructured documents
- Improve extraction accuracy, reliability, and performance for production workflows
- Develop validation frameworks and confidence scoring systems for extracted data
- Collaborate with AI engineers to make document-derived data usable in machine learning and LLM workflows
- Partner with domain and product experts to understand document variations and edge cases
- Investigate extraction failures and continuously improve processing quality
- Build tooling to monitor, evaluate, and measure document processing performance
- Support workflow automation initiatives that depend on high-quality document understanding
Who You Are
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building production-grade document processing, OCR, extraction, or data systems
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and data quality instincts
- Experience working with PDFs, spreadsheets, images, or other unstructured data formats
- Comfortable building systems where accuracy, reliability, and correctness are essential
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OCR, computer vision, document AI, or information extraction systems
- Experience working with LLMs or AI-powered document workflows
- Background in regulated or document-heavy industries such as financial services, legal, insurance, compliance, or accounting
- Experience building evaluation frameworks or quality measurement systems
- Experience scaling large document-processing pipelines in production environments
