Senior IT Security Administrator

Glocomms is partnered with a leading distribution organization seeking an experienced IT Security Administrator to support and enhance enterprise-wide cybersecurity initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining robust security controls, strengthening the organization's overall security posture, and ensuring the resilience of critical IT security applications and systems.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing security procedures, supporting business operations through effective cybersecurity operations, and contributing to a comprehensive threat operations program. This individual will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders-including business users, developers, architects, and management-to ensure alignment between technical security measures and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operations of IT security systems and applications, ensuring optimal performance and system safeguarding.
• Implement, monitor, and maintain security controls in alignment with established security practices and policies.
• Contribute to risk management initiatives by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential vulnerabilities across enterprise-level applications.
• Strengthen organizational resilience by supporting incident response activities and ongoing threat protection efforts.
• Assist in the development, documentation, and enforcement of security procedures and policies.
• Provide operational support for the organization's threat operations program, including threat detection and response initiatives.
• Deliver personnel support through training and participation in cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless integration of security solutions into business operations.
• Communicate technical security concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support ongoing improvements in security administration processes and overall security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with IT security operations, including managing security applications and systems.
• Strong understanding of security controls, risk management frameworks, and enterprise security practices.
• Demonstrated experience supporting operational security programs and safeguarding systems at scale.
• Knowledge of threat protection methodologies and modern cybersecurity tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to a high-performing security-focused environment.
