We are looking for a Head of Design to define and lead design across a fast-growing, AI-driven platform transforming a critical professional services industry. This role is ideal for a senior design leader who combines strong product instincts with systems thinking and can translate complex, high-stakes workflows into intuitive, trusted user experiences.
You will own design strategy end to end, from setting vision and standards to rolling up your sleeves on key product initiatives. This is a foundational leadership role with direct influence on how humans interact with intelligent systems at scale.
What You'll Do
- Set and evolve the overall design vision, principles, and strategy across the product
- Lead the design of complex, information-dense workflows without overwhelming users
- Define how humans interact with AI systems, including trust signals, visibility, and control
- Partner closely with engineering, product, and leadership to shape long-term roadmaps
- Own and scale the design system, patterns, and standards across the organization
- Guide and mentor designers, establishing clear expectations for quality and craft
- Conduct and oversee user research, workflow analysis, and usability testing in real environments
- Balance speed and quality while maintaining a consistently high design bar
- Measure design impact on efficiency, accuracy, and user satisfaction, then iterate continuously
- Contribute hands-on to critical initiatives where leadership and execution are both required
What You Bring
- 8+ years of product design experience, including ownership of complex B2B or workflow-heavy products
- Experience leading or scaling design functions, formally or informally
- Strong systems thinking and ability to design end-to-end experiences rather than isolated screens
- Proven ability to simplify complex domain concepts into intuitive interfaces
- Deep experience with design systems and reusable component frameworks
- Comfort collaborating directly with engineers, product leaders, and customers
- Ability to prototype quickly and communicate ideas clearly through design artifacts
- Strong product and business intuition with a focus on outcomes
- Interest in designing human and AI collaboration in production systems
- Experience designing for financial, operational, or regulated environments is a plus
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required
