Hybrid: 1 day on site per week

Contract: 12 months (renewable)

Overview:

Our client, an established financial services organisation is undertaking a significant technology transformation, evolving from traditional infrastructure and hosting models towards a modern cloud-first operating model.

As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise cloud platforms while helping shape the future direction of infrastructure, automation, security, and platform practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and support enterprise cloud infrastructure across both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Maintain platform stability, performance, availability, and compliance standards.
  • Implement and manage security hardening, patching strategies, and configuration management frameworks.
  • Ensure robust identity and access controls through role-based access management and governance policies.
  • Maintain monitoring, alerting, backup, disaster recovery, and operational support processes.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using modern provisioning tools.
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of cloud landing zones and reusable infrastructure modules.
  • Support migration initiatives from on-premise environments to cloud platforms.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable secure, repeatable deployments.
  • Enable self-service infrastructure capabilities for engineering and development teams.
  • Implement scalable platform services aligned with engineering standards and architectural principles.
  • Integrate security controls, vulnerability management, and identity protection mechanisms.
  • Monitor resource consumption and implement cost management best practices across cloud environment

Skills required:

  • You must have experience within Financial Services
  • Enterprise cloud engineering across governance, security, networking, and operations.
  • Windows Server administration with Linux support experience.
  • Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or DSC.
  • Scripting and automation using PowerShell and Bash.
  • CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Cloud networking, Kubernetes, monitoring, and observability experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and Zero Trust principles.
