Engineering Manager

The Role

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a small but high-impact team of engineers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll own delivery, help shape technical direction, and partner closely with product and customers.

You'll balance people leadership, execution, and technical guidance-helping the team move fast while building for scale.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and grow a team of 5-8 engineers, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
  • Drive execution and delivery of key product and platform initiatives
  • Partner with product, design, and leadership to define roadmap and priorities
  • Provide technical direction and architectural input (without needing to be in the code daily)
  • Establish and improve engineering best practices (code quality, testing, CI/CD, reliability)
  • Help the team navigate ambiguity and scale challenges in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Stay close to customers and business needs to ensure the team is building the right solutions

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 1-3 years in an engineering management or tech lead role
  • Experience building and scaling backend systems, APIs, or distributed systems
  • Strong track record of delivering production systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and drive execution
  • Comfortable working in startup environments with changing priorities and high ownership
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a high-growth startup (0 → 1 or 1 → scale)
  • Background in platform, infrastructure, or data systems
  • Exposure to customer-facing engineering or solutions environments
  • Experience hiring and scaling teams from the ground up
