Role: FedRamp Security Engineer
Location: Fully Remote:
A leading Firm is looking for an experienced FedRamp Security Engineer to join their team. As a FedRamp Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that systems and applications meet the stringent security requirements of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRamp). You will work closely with development and operations teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, and will be responsible for designing and implementing security controls to protect sensitive data and systems.
Responsibilities of a Fedramp Security Engineer:
- Develop and implement security controls to meet FedRamp requirements
- Work with development and operations teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for remediation
- Monitor and respond to security incidents
- Provide guidance and training to development and operations teams on security best practices
Skills of a FedRamp Security Engineer:
- Strong understanding of FedRamp requirements and security controls
- Experience with FIPS 140-2 and other federal security standards
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and security frameworks (e.g. NIST, CIS)
- Strong understanding of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Qualifications of a FedRamp Security Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field (preferred)
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CEH)
