Director of Cybersecurity
A reputable, global and growing financial organization is seeking an experienced cybersecurity leader to oversee enterprise security strategy, risk management, governance, compliance, and security operations. This role will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to strengthen the organization's security posture, manage cyber risk, and support ongoing growth and innovation.
The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on security expertise, with experience leading teams, managing security programs, and supporting regulatory and audit requirements.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the organization's cybersecurity strategy and long-term security roadmap
- Lead security governance, risk management, policies, standards, and control programs
- Provide regular cybersecurity reporting and updates to executive leadership
- Oversee incident response, investigations, crisis management, and remediation efforts
- Manage security operations, vulnerability management, threat detection, and monitoring programs
- Direct implementation and oversight of security technologies across identity management, endpoint security, data protection, cloud security, and related areas
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders on audits, assessments, and compliance initiatives
- Lead third-party risk management and vendor security review programs
- Establish security requirements for emerging technologies, automation, and AI initiatives
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, data, and application teams to embed security into technology projects and development processes
- Oversee security awareness training, business continuity planning, and cyber resilience initiatives
- Mentor and develop cybersecurity team members while fostering a security-focused culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, technology risk, compliance, or related disciplines
- 5+ years of people leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management practices, and security governance
- Experience supporting audits, risk assessments, and compliance programs
- Familiarity with cloud security, identity and access management, incident response, and security operations
- Understanding of secure development practices and modern application security concepts
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience building or maturing enterprise security programs
- Background working in highly regulated environments
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus
