Glocomms is partnered with a leading energy provider committed to delivering reliable, affordable, and clean energy while prioritizing safety, collaboration, and innovation. They are seeking a Staff Security Engineer - ICS/OT to join their team in Cayce, SC.

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for securing ICS and OT environments within power generation and industrial operations, while leveraging strong organizational and coordination skills to support project execution. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity measures aligned with NERC CIP compliance, ICS Cyber Security Standards, and industry best practices such as CISA and NIST guidance. The engineer will contribute to modernization initiatives, lifecycle support, and system architecture development, while ensuring timely delivery of upgrades and compliance projects through effective scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain ICS/OT cybersecurity architecture and actionable procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate cybersecurity projects, ensuring timely delivery of installations, upgrades, and compliance initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration between IT teams, plant operations, and external vendors to align project goals.
  • Conduct security assessments, incident analysis, root cause investigations, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and compliance standards into practical solutions and job aids.
  • Support lifecycle management for ICS networks, switches, firewalls, and Windows operating systems security.
  • Implement antivirus, whitelisting, malware prevention, and asset inventory systems for workstation and server protection.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and oversee system modernization efforts.
  • Prepare project documentation, maintain record-keeping systems, and ensure quality assurance throughout project execution.
  • Monitor cybersecurity trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through verbal updates, written reports, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 7+ years in ICS/OT security engineering, with experience in Power Generation Utility or Industrial Manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ICS cybersecurity principles, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards including NERC CIP.
  • Hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, ICS networks, and industrial protocols (OPC, Modbus, DNP).
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems security, system administration, and network security.
  • Familiarity with antivirus, whitelisting, malware prevention, and asset inventory systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, coordinate multiple initiatives, and maintain project documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Additional Information:

  • This is an on-site position based out of the company's Cayce, SC site. Candidates must be able to come on-site 5x/week. A sign-on bonus will be provided to candidates requiring relocation.
