Overview
We are partnered with a leading organisation in the Financial Services sector that is looking to engage a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer on a contract basis. This role will play a key part in shaping and operating enterprise-scale cloud environments while supporting ongoing platform transformation initiatives.
Mission
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and evolve Azure-based cloud architectures
- Act as a senior escalation point for Azure platform support, including the delivery and expansion of Azure Landing Zone capabilities
- Lead the implementation of cloud solutions across areas such as:
- Infrastructure and platform design
- Containerised and serverless workloads
- Data services and storage
- Networking, identity, security, and regulatory compliance
- Ensure cloud environments are maintained using repeatable, automated, and standardised approaches
- Take ownership of monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure platform reliability and performance
- Provide second-line technical support to internal teams when required
Required experience:
- Extensive hands-on experience (5 + years) working with Microsoft Azure
- Strong background in CI/CD and infrastructure automation (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, ARM templates or Bicep)
- Proven experience (5+ years) operating in a DevOps-focused environment
- Demonstrated capability delivering and scaling new Azure-based platforms and projects
- Previous experience within Financial Services or regulated environments is essential
