About the Role
A leading global organisation is undertaking a major data transformation programme and is seeking an experienced Head of Data Platform / Data Delivery Lead to oversee the evolution of its enterprise data landscape. This role provides end-to-end ownership of the existing data estate while leading the delivery of strategic data initiatives that support long-term business objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, change management functions, and third-party partners to ensure the successful execution of complex data programmes. This position requires strong leadership, programme delivery expertise, and a deep understanding of modern data platforms and engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of strategic data transformation programmes, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, budget, and quality expectations.
- Partner with Data Governance, business stakeholders, and technology teams to define and execute data roadmaps.
- Track programme progress, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, standards, and governance requirements.
- Manage programme resourcing across internal teams and external partners.
- Drive alignment between technology initiatives, enterprise transformation programmes, and business strategy.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of data platforms, systems, and technologies.
- Monitor software development lifecycle processes and production support functions for data technologies.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes and data management capabilities.
- Develop business cases and conduct financial evaluations for new technology investments.
- Oversee business analysis, development, testing, and quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to enterprise technology standards, policies, and best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to support innovation and continuous improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships and participate in strategic partner assessments.
- Own departmental budgeting activities, including forecasting, expenditure management, and contract negotiations.
- Lead, develop, and mentor high-performing teams.
