Data Engineer
Location: Greater Chicago Area (On-site)
Compensation: $96,000 - $148,000 Base Salary + Bonus Opportunities
About the Role
A well-established and growing North American organization is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help modernize and scale enterprise data platforms. This role will focus on designing and implementing data warehouse solutions, building scalable data pipelines, and supporting business intelligence and analytics initiatives that drive operational efficiency and business growth.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in data engineering and ETL development with the ability to mentor team members, influence data strategy, and collaborate across business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver enterprise-scale data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
- Support data modernization initiatives leveraging cloud platforms, modern data architectures, and automation technologies.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to develop, test, and deploy data solutions.
- Ensure data quality and reliability through code reviews, testing processes, and engineering best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other data engineers.
- Troubleshoot data issues and optimize performance across data platforms and applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of data engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise ETL and data integration solutions using platforms such as Informatica, SSIS, Databricks, or similar technologies.
- Strong SQL development experience, including complex query optimization and database performance tuning.
- Experience building and supporting large-scale data warehouse environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics technologies is highly preferred.
