Job Description
In collaboration with the RMS (Resource Management System) architecture team, the Network Expert will work on understanding the needs and requirements of both customers and partners. This involves gathering information about what these entities expect from the network infrastructure.
- Application of General Architectural Rules, Engineering, and IP Plan: The Network Engineer will apply general architectural principles, engineering practices, and an IP plan to design and configure the network infrastructure to meet the defined requirements.
- Production of Technical Documents for Projects and Sub-Projects: The engineer will be responsible for creating various technical documents related to projects within the RMS project.
These documents include:
➢ DAT : Technical Architecture Folder
➢ STD : Detailed Technical Specifications
➢ STAS : Service Access Specifications - Monitoring and Reporting on the Progress of Specifications and Services: The engineer will track the progress of specifications and services within the project and report on their status to a technical referent, which is likely a senior technical authority overseeing the project.
- Being the Technical Contact: The Network Engineer will serve as the technical point of contact for various stakeholders, including the technical referent, the validation team, as well as customers and partners.
Technical Environment:
- Ethernet, IP, MPLS
- Various routing and signaling protocols like LDP, mLDP, RSVP-TE, BGP4, MP-BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, PIM, IGMP
- VLAN stacking
- Timing and synchronisation technologies like SyncE and IEEE1588v2
- MPLS Layer 2 and Layer 3 services (VPLS, VLL, VPN IP unicast)
- Advanced services like EVPN-MPLS and EVPN-VXLAN
- Infrastructure design principles like "Spine & Leaf" topology for data centers
- Data Center Interconnection (DCI) solutions
