An innovative research company that is forging the way in Industrial IoT is seeking a new Business Development Manager to join its Swiss team in either Neuchâtel or Zürich. This company focuses in multiple spaces, such as digital Health, Photonics, Scientific Instruments, and Energy Harvesting and Storage. They deliver world-class technology throughout the Industrial sector that enables innovative breakthroughs in science and industry.
This is not your average business development position! They are looking for highly technical and skilled candidates with an engineering background who will be able to talk with other technical specialists and engineers, and work with their customers to tailor and develop solutions for them.
This position is not selling a 'thing', rather the 'brains' and services of the experts working for my client.
If you have technical experience (sales not necessarily required) in IoT, ASIC, Semiconductors, microchips, or Digital Twin, and also interested to work a technical business development role, then this position is for you!
Responsibilities:
- Develop business proposals for the customer that highlights the services provided (selling development services to help companies with their projects)
- Identify ideal customer profiles
- The role consists mainly of new logo acquisition via technical sales
- Analyzing market trends and exploring business opportunities
- Owning the full sales cycle & negotiating contracts
- Representing the company at various in-person events like conferences and online events
- Providing accurate sales forecasting and managing the sales pipeline to achieve and over-achieve targets
- Work in cohesion with the Sales Engineers, Representatives, and Marketing Teams
Skills and experience required:
- Technical background in IoT/smart sensors/ASIC/Semiconductors (engineer)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software sales & technical experience (IoT, embedded security and edge AI, and/or wireless connectivity - engineer, R&D engineer)
- Fluent in German and English (French is a bonus)
- Experience selling into the Industrial vertical is a bonus
- Demonstrable track-record of achieving sales goals
- Travel availability up to 25%
